12 December 2010 -- Jesse Tree Sunday
The tradition of the Jesse Tree comes to us from Medieval Europe and was intended as a visual depiction of the scriptural genealogy of Jesus. Each ornament on the Jesse Tree represents a story of the Bible that foreshadows the coming Messiah. It is a tradition that aids us in preparing for Christmas - the day when God breaks through the threshold of darkness to bring light and hope to the world.
